In the fascinating background offered by one of the most enchanting Venetian villas, the seventeenth century compound of Villa Foscarini Rossi in Stra, last Sunday, May 25th, they held a party to celebrate 60 years of the regional coffeehouse group GTTC, il Gruppo Torrefattori Triveneto di Caffè. Astoria sponsored the event, joining its own prestige to that of the location, a historic summer residence of the noble Foscarini family designed by the famous architect Vincenzo Scamozzi.
The event was inaugurated with a boat cruise on the river Brenta to discover the series of noble villas ensconced along the river, with passages through the locks at Mira and Dolo. The day continued with a welcome by the President of the GTTC, Count Giorgio Caballini di Sassoferrato and appearances by several local dignitaries, including Max Fabian, President of the Associazione Caffè Trieste, and Antonio Quarta, President of the Associazione Italiana dei Torrefattori.
