Capitan Astoria supports the baristas during the Cambodia Barista Championship!

A small town, but one that boasts great talents! In the town of Phnom Penh, on October 20 and 21, 2016, the best of Cambodia’s baristas challenged each other displaying veritable “excellence in a cup” in competing for the coveted and unique Cambodian National Barista Champion title.

The championship was held during the 2016 edition of the Camfood international exhibition, famed for arousing the interest of professionals and visitors belonging both to the Food & Beverage sector in all its facets, as well as to that of the equipment used in the field of foodstuffs.

It is here in fact that the Diamond Island Convention & Exhibition Center unites lovers of gourmet cuisine from all over the world, offering them the opportunity to generate positive vibes and clinch precious commercial contacts.

The 6 baristas that contested the Cambodia Barista Championship were supported in their endeavors by a top class coffee machine: the Plus4Champions, in the version personalized with Capitan Astoria.

The competitors were judged by a panel of 4 experts, with 4 espressos, 4 cappuccinos and 4 coffee-based cocktails being submitted to them, all produced in very limited times and before a public of supporters that attentively followed even the slightest movements of the baristas’ expert hands.

The victory went to Chew Limun who, young as she is, can now proudly boast this national title.

A particular word of thanks goes to Kofi for having given us the opportunity to experience such a dynamic atmosphere!
