From October 6th to the 8th, the city of Trieste hosted the second edition of the Trieste Coffee Festival, a three day event dedicated entirely to coffee, set in the enchanted hall called Salone degli Incanti, on the Trieste seaside boardwalk. Astoria was the star of the festival’s main attraction, the Italian semi-finals for the SCAE Latte Art Championship.
On Saturday, November 7th, six baristas contended for access to the last round of the Italian Championship, which will take place in Rimini during the SIGEP fair (23-27 January, 2016). The official machine for the semi-final in Trieste was the Plus4Champions, the official espresso machine for the World Latte Art Championship, which will assign the World Title in Shanghai during the Hotelex trade fair (29thMarch – 1st April, 2016). The semi-final in Trieste awarded Giovanni Roitero.
The Trieste Coffee Festival was the crowning event of an initiative called “Il gusto di una città – Trieste capitale del caffè” (“The taste of a city – Trieste, capital of coffee), and it hosted a full calendar of events dedicated to the world of the little cup, including round tables with professionals in the production chain, guided tastings and workshops. As the technical sponsor of the festival promoted by Trieste Coffee Cluster, Astoria supplied the coffee machines for the event: in addition to the Plus4Champions used for the competition, the 4 Plus4You TS was working at the Salone degli Incanti.
