Astoria enriches the shortlist for the EIC

The grand finale of the Espresso Italiano Champion, to be held in London next October 3, has added a new finalist who scored in Astoria red. The company opened its headquarters to the contest organized by the National Italian Espresso Institute – Istituto Nazionale Espresso Italiano.

The Trevigiana selection was held at the Astoria company last July 3 and  awarded barista Daniele Bitto from San Fior (Treviso), who earned the highest score from the jury for the contest, which was made up of a technical section and a sensory jury of tasters from the International Coffee Tasters Institute – Istituto Internazionale Assaggiatori Caffè (IIAC). This competition is exclusively dedicated to Italian espresso and cappuccino and aims to promote a profile of conformity certified by the INEI technical committee. The competition will culminate in a grand finale to be held at the London Royal Automobile Club, where baristas from every part of the world will challenge each other to offer their finest tribute to real Italian coffee.
