Astoria steals the show in New York with affiliate GEEC

The New York edition of Coffee Fest is one of the absolute musts in the coffee industry and of Coffee-Fest-New-York-(1)course Astoria was a major player in the event, attending with its affiliate General Espresso Equipment Corporation (GEEC), exclusive distributor for the United States. From the 8th to the 10th of March at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, the event was able to attract an even greater number of visitors than usual thanks to two important new initiatives: the competitions for America’s Best Coffee House and America’s Best Espresso, in which the best coffee professionals in America challenged themselves and each other.

Coffee-Fest-New-York-(2)Stealing the scene in particular was the Plus4You in its new white-chrome colour scheme, which came complete with a hard working barista serving coffee. The machine featured a new line of BWT water+more filters, a new entry in the line of accessories which were unveiled right there in New York. As part of a special 2013 promotional offer, a Bestmax water filter head and cartridge will be included at no extra charge with the purchase of most Astoria machines. Other models on display at stand 210 were the Rapallo, Gloria and Perla machines, this last one – in the SAE/JUN Inox version – was in use at the Monin Gourmet Flavorings booth, which was also serving coffee.

“Participating in trade shows has always been an opportunity to IMAG0115-1-1spend valuable time with our distributors.  Porto Rico Importing Co., our distributor for the New York area, offered us valuable support at the stand, keeping us stocked with fresh coffee to serve our guests,”  says Courtney Baber, Sales and Marketing Manager for GEEC. “The event was a success and provided excellent exposure for the Astoria brand”.
