At the World Trade Center in Dubai for the fifth time

Up to now it has been the most visited trade fair on Astoria’s international calendar:  Gulfood continues to expand its audience and increase the numbers of exhibitors, so much so that in 2013 there were hundreds of companies left on a waiting list, including lots of Italian enterprises. Astoria confirmed its presence for the fifth year in a row at the expo in Dubai, which was held from the 25th to the 28th of last February. It is one of the most outstanding international events in the agriculture and food sector, with industry insiders coming not only from the United Arab Emirates but also from throughout the Middle East, including India, Pakistan and parts of Africa.

“My first impression when I arrived in Dubai was the sensation that the local economy was on the rebound,” says Massimo Talamini, Export Area Manager for Astoria. “Lines at the airport, lines at the restaurants, an impressive number of tourists. Good news since for us this is a very interesting market, halfway between Europe and Asia, with particularly dynamic territorial growth. Not only did it give us a chance to make new contacts, all our clients visit the Dubai trade fair and it’s the perfect place to consolidate global business. Compared to past years we’ve noticed improvements in the organizational aspects, while the flow of visitors continued right up to the last minutes of the fair.”

The colourful man in the photo was a popular regular presence at the expo. He livened things up with his extravagant clothes, and showed enthusiastic appreciation for the espresso served at the Astoria stand, where the model Pratic Avant and the super automatic Gemma Push Button were on display.
