In introducing to you Hungarian urban artist Gergely Void, the first protagonist of the documentary “Streets of Budapest”, we told the story of the city’s most artistic side, one of the attributes that make the capital famous the world over.

Budapest is also the repository of another equally picturesque and deeply rooted local artistic tradition. We are talking about coffeehouses, the offspring of strong Turkish and Austro-Hungarian influences that left their imprint on the city in the early twentieth century.  At first social gathering loci and meeting places for poets, artists and politicians, some of these cafés gave life to the most revolutionary and yet enlightened ideas and concepts.

Spray cans, thousands of colors, lots of passion and a few liters of coffee. “Streets of Budapest” is the project that will bring Astoria to the Hungarian capital on June 13, on the occasion of the World Of Coffee, a worldwide event and a must for all lovers of specialty coffee.

The project is fully dedicated to the Hungarian capital which hosts the event, a city with rich artistic and cultural traditions embodied by the countless works of art that enliven its streets and alleys. In fact, only by walking with an eye to the sky can stencils, graffitis, tags, stickers and murals be appreciated.

Great Latte Art Show at Astoria during the CILA selections!

An exciting day at Astoria headquarters, where the final stage of the Italian Latte Art Championship (CILA) selections was held, promoted by the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE).
With froth, eight expert contestants gave battle all day, stroke after stroke demonstrating their supreme technical skills besides great creativity in the decorations chosen and presented to the panel of judges before the competition.
